2022 Volunteer of the Year


CONGRATULATIONS to our very own Hospice of the Ozarks Volunteer, Valerie Zaske, who was honored as the Hospice & Palliative Care Association of Arkansas 2022 Volunteer of the Year!

Sam Sellers, the Executive Director of the Hospice & Palliative Care Association of Arkansas, joined us to celebrate Valerie’s dedication to Hospice of the Ozarks. There were multiple applicants throughout the state of Arkansas and Valerie was chosen for this special “Heart Award”.

Valerie is a retired elementary school teacher who came to serve as a volunteers for Hospice of the Ozarks in March 2019. She has become such an asset to the Hospice of the Ozarks Bereavement program and has served as a volunteer for over 1,500 hours since the beginning of the Pandemic in March 2020!!

Valerie has been an inspiration to the staff and volunteers in her commitment to the Bereaved families. Her strong work ethic, loyalty and outstanding skill has certainly made Valerie a blessing to Hospice of the Ozarks.



Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce awards Hospice of the Ozarks: Organization of the Year!

It is an honor to be nominated and selected as one of the Chamber of Commerce, “Organization of the Year.”  Hospice of the Ozarks shares this award with Baxter Health.  The Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors reviewed all nominations and named two recipients for their annual not-for-profit organization award.  “We are humbled by this recognition during one of the most challenging years as a result of the pandemic,” states Greg Wood, Executive Director.


Grief & Loss Support

Hospice of the Ozarks provides support groups for bereaved loved ones.


Growing through Grief Support Groups:

 

  • Classes will be on consecutive Mondays: 10:00 am - noon. Tuesday evenings: 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm.  The meetings will be at the Hospice of the Ozarks Administration Building: 811 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, AR 72653.   • 3rd Thursday of the month at Kirby & Family Funeral Home 717 Central Blvd, Bull Shoals from 2 pm - 4 pm.
